The Benefit of Waxing
Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes the entire hair from the root, not just from the surface of the skin. Don't spend time shaving every day anymore; with a wax you can experience smoothness for weeks.
Best Waxing Practice
Although it may be tempting, do not tweeze or shave in between wax visits. Your hair must be 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch long for the wax to grab all the hair at the same time, leaving you with a smooth finish. Please let the esthetician know of any prescribed or over - the - counter topical medications that you are currently using. Different topical may have a negative reaction to our wax causing you discomfort.
Waxing F.A.Q's :
-How often do I need to wax? - It varies on how quickly your hair grows. Typically you will need to wax every 3 to 6 weeks or when the hair is 1/4 to 1/2 inch long.
- Will waxing make my hair grow back thicker or darker? - This is a common question and the answer is no. Typically, the root of your hair is weakened from waxing the more it is done which in turn causes new hair to regrow thinner.
- What will be my skin's reaction to wax? - Your skin may appear red and feel sensitive to the touch. This typically subsides within 24 hours of having the wax service.
- What can I put on my skin after waxing? - It is best not to use heavy lotions that can clog your pores. Try using an Aloe Vera Gel or essential oils to help soothe any sensitivity you may be experiencing. If waxing your underarms, wait at least 24 hours before applying antiperspirant.
